Nambi Alaisa is one of the girls working in Hope Alive Uganda's tailoring project. She is from Bukyatifu, where she spent her days not going to school and being without a job. In April 2010, she heard Hope Alive Uganda was about to open a tailoring studio. Nambi Alaisa decided to join this project and received a training from her teacher in this project. She was taught how to use a sewing machine and started practising cutting and measuring using paper bags first. Later, she started practising using real cloth. Nambi Alaisa says "I am now an expert and I know how to make school uniforms".   She is eager to learn more and is happy her teacher has taught her new skills over the past few months. Nambi Alaisa is now selling the school uniforms she made to schools in Kisozi and surrounding villages, and has shown interest in the production and selling of reusable pads and making crafts like paper bead necklaces and colourful bags. Nambi Aleisa expressed her joy about being able to participate in the tailoring project in a video.
