Hope Alive Uganda organizes workshops and seminars for the community and youths at primary and secondary schools in Kisozi and surroundings.

During these workshops and seminars, Hope Alive Uganda wants to create awareness about the dangers of hiv/aids and how to prevent hiv/aids. Also, Hope Alive Uganda pays much attention to the influences of peer groups and wants to empower the community and youths. It teaches girls at primary schools and secondary schools to stand up for themselves and say "no".

Hope Alive Uganda invites pupils from 15 different schools to attend the workshops and send 4 participants who can teach other pupils at their schools afterwards.

There are 3 sessions for each group. For example, during the first day of the workshop the following things are discussed: what is peer education? who is a peer? what are the roles of peers? what are the qualities of a good peer? Also it is discussed how one peer can influence others and the pupils discuss tips to influence peers. Some brainstorming games are done with the pupils. Apart from that, pupils receive actual information about the disease and even the use of condoms are demonstrated.

In 2011, Hope Alive Uganda plans to train 18 different groups of youths and 9 groups from the community. Since Hope Alive Uganda has opened an hiv/aids information center early 2011, all workshops and seminars will be organized in this center in 2011.
