Hope Alive Uganda (HAU) has been working in Kamuli district for the last four years and has started to work in Jinja district since 2010, promoting sustainable development in communities and setting up training programs in the fields of education, health, empowerment and agriculture.

The hiv/aids information centre in Kisozi offers people the opportunity to get information and advice from professionals concerning hiv/aids and hiv/aids prevention. What's more social workers offer counseling to people who have aids and workshops for youths are organized at this centre. People can have their blood tested and can be directed for further treatment. |

In 2012, Hope Alive Uganda will run the Eyes of Africa project together with photographer Melanie Rijkers. Hope Alive Uganda wants to give children in Kisozi (who participated in the hiv/aids workshops), teen mothers in Kisozi and street children in Jinja the oppertunity to discover their talents and develop their talents and show the world their lives through the lens of a camera and through art. In Uganda, Hope Alive Uganda hopes to work with Ugandan professionals such as Edward Echwalu and Fred Mutebi. |

Hopepads is a project which empowers women. Women can become independent women through training and earning their own income. What's more, the project gives women in East Uganda access to an affordable and hygienic product and contributes to reducing the number of girls staying home each month from school because they can't afford pads. Hopepads are reusable pads.

Cattle and Agriculture project |
Hope Alive Uganda's Cattle and Agriculture project is an income generating project for boys aged 16 to 20. Boys are offered a training program by professionals. Breeding cows, selling milk, contacts with wholesalers, manuring land, growing and selling vegetables, improving social skills are all aspects of this project which is aimed at empowering boys balancing on the edge of crime due to lack of education, unemployment and chances. |
