Home is not for granted in Uganda |
|
Hope Alive Uganda (HAU) has been working in Kisozi for the last two years and in the community and schools Kisozi sub-county, providing educational support and health education for the orphans and vulnerable children under its care and promoting sustainable development in communities. HAU is ready to go to the next level, from responding to immediate problems to addressing long-term needs in communities that are underserved in terms of HIV/AIDS prevention, care and treatment.
We believe in 100 percent local ownership and participation of the communities that we work with. HAU facilitates collaboration within and between communities that have been severely affected by HIV/AIDS and chronic poverty. HAU supports community based activities in mobilizing and harnessing community strengths and resources in sync with local traditions and cultures; to take care of the growing numbers of orphaned and vulnerable children. The drastic and severe effect of HIV/AIDS has left communities overwhelmed with growing numbers of vulnerable children. HAU partners with community based organizations that are on the front line in providing critical , safety net programs and care to children, families and communities most in need.
