Hope Alive Uganda has set up a partnership with Eyeclarify in the Netherlands.
Eyeclarify provides free pairs of glasses to projects which can benefit those people in the community that can't afford to buy a pair of glasses.
Eyeclarify donated more than 3700 pairs of glasses to Hope Alive Uganda between 2009 and 2010. Eyeclarify donated pairs of glasses for children as well as pairs of glasses for adults. Hope Alive Uganda has distributed free pairs of glasses to people in Kisozi and Wakitaka, Jinja.
Early November 2009, announcements were made through the local radio stations, informing the people about when to have their eyes checked so they could receive a free pair of glasses. This Eyecamp was held between 19th and 21st November 2009. This first Eyecamp was held in Kisozi.
The second eyecamp took place in Wakitaka, Jinja on 9th May 2010. Hope Alive Uganda partnered with Wakitaka Youth Development Group in this Eyecamp. During this second Eyecamp more than 350 pairs of glasses were distributed for free to people.
