Hope Alive Uganda received a wonderful donation for the purpose of buying mosquito nets for children registered with Hope Alive Uganda. About 66 mosquito nets can be bought. Hope Alive Uganda is planning to give 66 children a mosquito net in the second week of August. Hope Alive Uganda will teach the children and their parents or guardians about malaria prevention as well, using the exercise books and brochures about malaria made by the students of the Worldschool.

Thanks to the great efforts by Darlene Cavallaro, a boutigue in Nevada city, the United States, called 33rd Degree, will start selling the necklaces made by the women's groups from Kakindu and Buwenda. Hope Alive Uganda and Darlene Cavallaro are exploring more creative ideas in this field...

Impulsis supports Hope Alive Uganda |

Another milestone for Hope Alive Uganda: Impulsis in the Netherlands has approved Hope Alive Uganda's borehole proposal and will support Hope Alive Uganda with one third of the costs of building the borehole. Furthermore, Impulsis will be Hope Alive Uganda's support partner with Akvo and with Akvo, Hope Alive Uganda will try and raise the remaining amount. Also, Hope Alive Uganda is still partnering with GGNET to fund the building of the borehole. Hope Alive Uganda will now concentrate on forming a water comittee and writing the conditions down with the community involved in the period to come, as agreed on with Impulsis.

NCDO supports Hope Alive Uganda |

NCDO in the Netherlands will support Hope Alive Uganda between 1 August 2010 and 1 August 2012 in the following project: setting up an HIV/AIDS information centre, running an HIV/AIDS training program for the youths from primary and secondary schools and for the community and setting up 2 counseling groups (1 for women, 1 for men) for people with AIDS. The conditions are that Hope Alive Uganda will raise 3000 euros which will be doubled by NCDO. Hope Alive Uganda will concentrate on the first phase in the period to come: raising the fund to meet NCDO's criteria and running a publicity program concerning the work of Hope Alive Uganda. |
